Volleyball ACT is seeking Expressions of Interest to lead both the Volleyball ACT U14-U18 Boys and Girls Indoor Volleyball teams to the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships (AYVC) 18-22 Sept, 2023 (Held in Bendigo) and the U19 and U23 teams to the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships (AJVC) 7-9 July, 2023 (Held in Sydney).

Key Generic Role Information

• These are volunteer roles which require all coaches to place the safety and welfare of the athlete above all else.
• Team coaches are required to illustrate a positive image of Volleyball in the ACT at all times while working constructively with fellow coaches and officials.
• The purpose of these roles is to identify, support, organize, develop, coach and mentor VACT athletes to perform to their best abilities at AYVC  and/or AJVC beginning early in 2023.

• To apply, you must be an accredited coach and have a current WWVP card for the duration of the program.
• VACT will seek to field representative teams in the Men's and Women's U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 for AYVC and Men's and Women's U19 and U23 for AJVC.. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and performance program for the required age group from 1 April 2023 through to completion of the relevant championships.
• Work with all relative staff and individuals to develop the athletes' skills and maximize performance.
• Evaluate/scout potential athletes leading into the trials for the respective age groups (Juniors - 22 & 29 Apr 2023, Youth - 20 & 27 May 2023)
• Commit to and attend most or all training/trials sessions.
• Communicate effectively with other representative coaches and athletes to resolve any selection, welfare or training/competition issues.
• Follow direction as provided by Volleyball ACT for the duration of the program.
• Attend the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships in Bendigo, VIC in the listed competition dates: 18-22 Sept, 2023 and/or the Australian Junior Volleyball Championshiops Sydney, NSW on the competition dates of 7-9 July 2023.
