Volleyball ACT is seeking Expressions of Interest to lead both the Volleyball ACT U14-U18 (U14 not travelling to AYBVC) Boys and Girls Beach Volleyball teams to AYBVC 17-22 March 2024 and the U19 and U21 teams on the AJBVC Tour from Jan - Feb 2024.

Key Generic Role Information

• These are volunteer roles which require all coaches to place the safety and welfare of the athlete above all else.
• Team coaches are required to illustrate a positive image of Volleyball in the ACT at all times while working constructively with fellow coaches and officials.
• The purpose of these roles is to identify, support, organize, develop, coach and mentor VACT athletes to perform to their best abilities at AYBVC  and/or AJBVC in early 2024.

• To apply, you must be an accredited coach and have a current WWVP card for the duration of the program.
• VACT will seek to field representative teams in the Men's and Women's U14 (fours), U15 (threes) , U16, U17, U18 (pairs) for AYBVC and Men's and Women's U19 and U21 for AJBVC.. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and performance program for the required age group from 29 October 2023 to 1 April 2024.
• Work with all relative staff and individuals to develop the athletes' skills and maximize performance.
• Commit to and attend most or all training sessions.
• It is an expectation that selected program coaches will attend the following beach volleyball events in addition to weekly squad trainings:
  • VACT Junior Beach Development Camp TBD December 2023 @ Lyneham Beach Facility
  • ACT Open Beach Volleyball Tournament 9-10th March 2024 @ Lyneham Beach Facility
  • NSW Youth Championships 16-17 Dec 2023 (Under 14's Only)
• Communicate effectively with other representative coaches and athletes to resolve any selection, welfare or training/competition issues.
• Follow direction as provided by Volleyball ACT for the duration of the program.
• Attend the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships in Coolangatta, QLD in the listed competition dates: 17-22 March 2024 and/or the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Tour events in Caloundra (17-18 Jan), Cobram (5-6 Feb) and Molymook (26-27 March).
