Beach Volleyball Competitions & Events

Volleyball ACT’s Beach Leagues provide a sports experience like no other! Spring and Summer nights on the sand, under lights, music playing and balls flying! Competitions are available for all levels of player from beginners through to the experienced. Play in a pair or mixed four! If you don't have a team just let us know and we can find you one! Beach Volleyball is all about fun and social competitions!

Our seasons run from October to December and January to March. 

All competitions are held at the Lyneham Beach Facility, Thurbon Road, Lyneham.

How do I enter a Beach Volleyball Competition?

The Lyneham Beach Facility is available for hire should you want to play.

Competition Formats


Beach Pairs - Men's 
Entry Closes 17th October 2024
Weekday: Monday Nights 
Dates: 21st of October to 9th of December 2024.
Format: Best of 3 sets (21/21/15) untimed. The match times listed are Guaranteed Earliest Start Time.  

Beach Pairs - Women's 
Entry Closes 17th October 2024
Weekday: Tuesday Nights 
Dates: 22nd of October to 10th of December 2024.
Format: Best of 3 sets (21/21/15) Untimed. The times listed are the Guaranteed Earliest Start Time.  

Beach Pairs - Mixed
Entry Closes 17th October 2024
Weekday: Wednesday Nights 
Dates: 23rd October to 11th December 2024. 
Format: Best of 3 sets (21/21/15) Untimed. The times listed are the Guaranteed Earliest State Time. 

Beach Fours - Mixed
Entry Closes 21st October 2024
Weekday: Thursday Nights 
Dates: 24th October to 12th December 2024.
Format: Timed matches being 50 minute games (+10 minute warm-up). Best of 5 sets, playing as many sets as possible (21/21/21/21/15). A set is deemed complete at time if a team has 11 points or more (sets 1, 2, 3, and 4) or 8 points or more (set 5) and has a lead of 2 or more points.

Pairs Beach Volleyball
VACT Division One: 
Beach Volleyball - ABVT Div 1, AJBVT U21s, NSWBVT Div 1 & Div 2. 
Indoor Volleyball - CVL Premier, Men's Div One. 
VACT Division Two: 
Beach Volleyball - ABVT Div 2, AJBVT U19s, NSWBVT Div 3 & 4. 
Indoor Volleyball - CVL Reserves, Women's Div One, Men's Div Two. 
VACT Division Three: 
Indoor Volleyball - Women's Div Two & Three, Men's Div Three. 
VACT Youth Division*:  
Indoor Volleyball - Women's Div Four & Youth, Men's Div Four  
*Any U15 or U14 teams that are playing 3-a-side are required to enter into the Youth Division.  

Mixed Beach Guide 
VACT Division One: 
Similar standard to Rec Div 1 for indoor.  Should also include players from Div One & Div Two noted above.
VACT Division Two: 
Similar standard to Rec Div 2 for indoor.  Should also include players from Div Three noted above. 
VACT Division Three: 
Similar standard to Rec Div 3 for indoor.  Ideal place to start for teams that are starting out and learning the sport.

When: Saturday, 19th October 2024. 
Divisions: Division 1 & Division 2 Men's & Women's Pairs*. 

ACT Beach Series Round 2
When: Saturday, 2 November 2024. 
Divisions: Division 1 & Division 2 Men's & Women's Pairs. 

ACT Beach Series Round 3
When: Saturday, 16 November 2024. 
Divisions: Division 1 & Division 2 Men's & Women's Pairs. 

ACT Beach Series Round 4
When: Saturday, 30 November 2024. 
Divisions: Division 1 & Division 2 Men's & Women's Pairs*. 

ACT Beach Series Round 5
When: Saturday, 1 February 2025. 
Divisions: Division 1 & Division 2 Men's & Women's Pairs*.

ACT Beach Series Round 6
When: Saturday, 22 February 2025. 
Divisions: Division 1 & Division 2 Men's & Women's Pairs*.

ACT Open
(final Mikasa Cup event)
When: Saturday, 8 March & Sunday, 9 March 2025. 
Divisions: Division 1 & Division 2 Men's & Women's Pairs.
