Upcoming Beach Volleyball Events and the Return of the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour
Are you looking to return to the sand or find something to fill the gap until indoor volleyball starts? Here’s your guide to the exciting beach volleyball events on the horizon:
Volleyball ACT Competitions
VACT Competitions will return to the sand on Monday, 20 January 2025, and entries are now open:
- Monday: Men's pairs (entries close 13 January)
- Tuesday: Women's pairs (entries close 14 January)
- Wednesday: Mixed pairs (entries close 15 January)
- Thursday: Mixed fours (entries close 17 January)
If your team requires a bye in the first week of competition due to the school holidays, please email admin@volleyballact.com.au after your entry has been submitted.
ACT Beach Series Round 5
📅 Date: Saturday, 1 February 2025
The ACT Beach Series is a one-day competition featuring Division 1 and Division 2 pairs. The cost is $65 per pair, and you will play between 3-5 games throughout the day.
Australian Beach Volleyball Tour: Canberra Leg
📅 Dates: 7-9 February 2025
Exciting news! The Australian Beach Volleyball Tour is returning to Canberra for leg 2 of the tour. The top 48 men's and women's teams from around the nation will be competing at the Lyneham Beach Facility. This event will feature some of our top local teams, making it a fantastic opportunity to support your local athletes and witness the highest level of beach volleyball in Australia. Whether you're a seasoned fan or new to the sport, this event promises thrilling matches and high-energy competition.
ACT Beach Series Round 6
📅 Date: Saturday, 22 February 2025
Another chance to compete in the ACT Beach Series, with the same format as Round 5.
ACT Open
📅 Dates: Saturday, 8 & Sunday, 9 March 2025
The ACT Open is the pinnacle of the ACT Beach Volleyball Season. This year, we're expecting a high level of competition as it’s the last chance for most teams to maximize their points before the Australian Championships two weeks later.
ACT Junior Championships
📅 Date: Saturday, 15 March 2025
This event is an excellent opportunity for the ACT Junior athletes to have one final hit out before the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships. Entries are open to any pairs that meet the age requirements and would like to play.
Canberra Beach Program
For those looking to train, the Canberra Beach Program will be back on 15 January 2025:
- Tour: Monday & Wednesday evening with Lewis & Nic
- Event: Wednesday evening & Sunday morning with Allana & Max
- Competition: Friday evening & Sunday morning with Sofya & Adrian
- Participation: Friday evening & Sunday morning with Greg & Beau
