Please find below conditions under which the Autumn League competitions will take place based on current ACT Government COVID-19 restrictions:
These restrictions are current and active as of 24th March 2021. This post will be updated and members notified if any changes occur.
1. IF YOU ARE SICK/UNWELL/SHOWING SYMPTOMS DO NOT ATTEND - STAY AT HOME
If you are showing any symptoms, feel unwell or are sick, stay at home and do not attend the Lyneham Hockey Centre.
It is everyone’s ongoing responsibility to keep our community safe and allow us to keep playing our sport.
2. MANDATORY CHECK-IN USING CHECK-IN CBR APP AND QR CODE FOR ALL ATTENDEES – PLAYERS, COACHES, REFEREES, DUTY TEAMS, PARENTS/SUPPORTERS, STAFF
Everyone who attends Volleyball ACT competitions regardless of status (player, coach, referee, duty team members, parent/supporter, staff) must sign in at the gate upon arrival using the Lyneham Hockey Centre QR code and the Check-In CBR app. This is a mandatory requirement of entry into the venue. Player, coach, referee names on scoresheets for matches are no longer considered to be sufficient.
Please follow the steps outlined in the following link to download the app and view the check-in process: https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/business-and-work/check-in-cbr/information-for-customers
3. COURT ENTRY/EXIT
Entry/exit to/from the indoor courts is via the main glass sliding doors into the Hockey Centre.
As gathering indoors is still strongly discouraged, all who attend the venue must proceed to their match court immediately upon entry, and depart immediately following the conclusion of their match.
4. MATCH TIMES
The 5-minute changeover gap between matches that was implemented in 2020 will no longer apply. Match times will return to the traditional format and will be played every hour (ie – 5.30 pm, 6.30 pm, 7.30 pm, 8.30 pm, 9.30 pm). Please be mindful to avoid gathering within the venue and to depart as soon as the match has concluded.
5. TOILETS/CHANGEROOMS ACCESS
Toilets and change rooms in the main part of the Hockey Centre will now again be accessible to those playing in Volleyball ACT competitions. Limitations on permitted maximum numbers in these individual spaces will be provided on the signage posted and must be adhered to.
6. DUTY – OPEN LEAGUE MEN’S AND WOMEN’S A NUMBER INCREASE (4 PLAYERS REQUIRED)
Duty requirements for Open League will return to the traditional format as set in the VACT By-Laws. Men’s and Women’s A must provide a minimum of 4 players (2nd ref x 1, scorer x 1, line judge x 2). Men’s and Women’s B and C must provide a minimum of 2 players (2nd ref x 1, scorer x 1). It is hoped that this increase in duty numbers for the Men’s and Women’s A divisions will result in a more enjoyable and competitive match with more accurate calls being made by the referee and duty teams given the faster speed of these matches.
For teams who have duty post-match, any players who are not performing in the duty must depart the venue immediately following their match. Alternatively, for teams who have duty prior to their match, please ensure that only duty team members are present during this time and those not performing duty arrive only for the commencement of the warm-up period for their game to be played post duty.
7. NO CHANGE OF ENDS
As per 2020, there will be no change of ends for teams between sets.
We ask everyone to do their part in keeping everyone safe.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you all on the court!
