ACT Beach Series

Volleyball ACT invites you to participate in the ACT Beach Series during the 2024/2025 summer season. 

This is a competitive series with prize money up for grabs in Division 1 and National Ranking system points awarded to players for their performance in each round.  

The Divisions offered:
Division 1 Pairs - Men's & Women's (3 Star)
Division 2 Pairs - Men's & Women's (2 Star)

The dates for the 2024/2025 ACT Beach Series are:
Round 1: 19 October 2024
Round 2: 2 November 2024
Round 3: 16 November 2024
Round 4: 30 November 2024
Round 5: 1 February 2025
Round 6: 22 February 2025 

Format is dependent on entries. Division 1 is limited to 16 entries. The top 14 ranked teams, with up to 2 local wild cards. No wildcard entry will be placed in the top 4. If not all wildcards are used, the next highest ranked team will be entered into Division 1.  When possible Division 1 will be seeded 4 pools of 4, full pool play with top 2 teams progressing. 

Division 2 is limited to a maximum of 20 teams, noting that the venue capacity for a 1 day tournament is 64 teams.  Teams are guaranteed a minimum of three matches in Division 2.

ACT Open 

ACT Open will be held on 8th & 9th March 2025 (Saturday & Sunday of the Canberra Day long weekend)

The divisions offered include:
Division 1 Pairs - Men's & Women's (4 Star)
Division 2 Pairs - Men's & Women's (3 Star)

Format is dependent on entries. Division 1 will have a maximum of 24 entries. The top 16 ranked teams, up to 4 local wild cards, and up to 4 development wild cards. No wildcard entry will be placed in the top 8. If not all wildcards are used, the next highest-ranked teams may be entered into Division 1 to ensure an even number of teams across pools. 
Division 2 is limited to a maximum of 20 teams, noting that the venue capacity for the two-day tournament is 80 teams.  All teams will have matches on both Saturday and Sunday, teams are guaranteed a minimum of four matches. 

ACT Junior Beach Event

Volleyball ACT will be holding a junior-focused beach event on 15 March 2024. Format & Divisions will be dependent on entries with more information available closer to the event. 

Preferred format outline*: 
Divisions - U19 Boys, U19 Girls, U17 Boys, U17 Girls, U15 Boys (U15 3-a-side, U14 4-a-side but run together) & U15 Girls (U15 3-a-side, U14 4-a-side).
Where possible, pools of 4 teams, full round-robin pool play. Minimum 3 games (4 if court space and entries allow).
